    Dear Fellow SIMians,

     

    Ann Buchholtz's passing leaves a void that is impossible to fill; there simply is no one else like Ann. Nonetheless, we do need to move forward in finding someone to now serve as the Professor of Ethical Leadership and Academic Director of the Institute for Ethical Leadership at Rutgers Business School. We have a great group of colleagues here to work alongside, and so we're hoping to find someone spectacular to fill this position. Should you be that person, please do take the time to apply.     Professor of Ethical Leadership and Academic Director, Institute for Ethical Leadership

    The Department of Management and Global Business at Rutgers Business School – Newark & New Brunswick invites applications for a tenured position as Professor of Ethical Leadership, with an additional appointment as Academic Director of the Institute for Ethical Leadership, starting September 2016. We seek candidates with highly visible and active programs of research on business ethics, proven excellence in teaching graduate and undergraduate level business ethics courses, demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and mentor doctoral students, and a willingness and ability to interact with the business and nonprofit community.  The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree and qualifications that are appropriate for appointment as a tenured professor.

     

    The Professor of Ethical Leadership also serves as Academic Director of the Institute for Ethical Leadership. The Institute for Ethical Leadership is a university-wide center, located in Rutgers Business School, whose mission is to strengthen ethical leadership to enhance civil society. The Institute works with corporations, businesses, nonprofits, and governmental organizations for the betterment of civil society, both nationally and globally. The Professor of Ethical Leadership serves as a member of the Institute's leadership team, oversees the Institute's research program, and represents the Institute in various settings. The Professor of Ethical Leadership has access to the substantial staff resources, expertise, and network connections associated with the Institute, and is provided a significant course buyout, research funding, and administrative support to enable effective service in this capacity.

    The Department of Management and Global Business has a world-renowned faculty with specialties in not only Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, but also Strategy, Organizational Behavior, International Business, and Entrepreneurship. Rutgers Business School, part of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is located in the New York metropolitan area and spans campuses in Newark and New Brunswick. We opened a new Business School building in Newark in 2009 and a new Business School building on the Livingston campus in New Brunswick in August 2013.  Rutgers Business School – Newark and New Brunswick is a "Big Ten" business school that has the leading public MBA program in the New York metropolitan region and the largest doctoral program in any public university in the nation. Faculty members are expected to teach on both Newark and New Brunswick campuses and are assigned an office on either campus depending on needs.
