Draft Program
Overview: The purpose of the Humanistic Management AOM preconference is to bring together scholars from various divisions of the Academy that share a humanistic perspective on management research and teaching. While there has been a lot of interest in such a humanistic perspective the divisional setup of AOM rarely allows cross-division connections. We wish to provide such a space with this preconference format suggest by former AOM president Paul Adler. In this preconference, we will 1) discuss the conceptual underpinnings of a humanistic perspective of management and 2) explore its applications in practice and 3) pedagogy. We also wish to build community and work on agenda setting towards a life-conducive economy.
