Business and Public Policy Position
Job Description:
The McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin has created a new department, Business, Government and Society (BGS), in recognition of the substantial influence that government and society have over business activity. BGS will teach future leaders how to recognize and respond to the regulatory, ethical, and social expectations that businesses face and will generate research to influence future government regulation of business. BGS will contribute to important public policy debates through the research of economists, political scientists, legal scholars, business ethicists, and others.
The McCombs School now invites applications for both senior (tenured) and junior (tenure-track) positions starting in the 2012-2013 school year. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant social science discipline, such as political science, political economy, behavioral psychology, or business ethics, and a research agenda relevant to business and its regulation. Candidates should also have potential for not only teaching excellence but also research excellence that would result in publications in the top journals of their field or of related business disciplines.
