The Management and Organization Department in the Smeal College of Business at Penn State has multiple full-time, tenure-track positions open at any rank (assistant/associate/full professor) in the following categories: (1) Strategic Management/Organization Theory and (2) Organizational Behavior. Strong preference will be given to candidates with publications in premier journals, who have high-impact research programs underway, and who are able to connect with a wide array of current management department colleagues. We are interested in candidates with research and teaching in the areas of business ethics and social responsibility.

The Management and Organization Department comprises a group of active scholars whose work is diverse and often interdisciplinary. Our tenure-track faculty include: Denny Gioia (Chair), Forrest Briscoe, Raghu Garud, Barbara Gray, Don Hambrick, Stephen Humphrey, Glen Kreiner, Vilmos Misangyi, Tim Pollock, Chuck Snow, Jim Thomas (Dean), Linda Treviño, and Wenpin Tsai. The department is consistently ranked among the most research productive in the world, and several of our faculty members have amongst the highest citation counts of anyone in management. Now and in recent years, our members have served as editors or associate editors at many of the most prestigious journals in the field (Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Management Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes).
The Smeal College of Business continues to enhance its position as a premier business school. We have highly ranked undergraduate and MBA programs, a growing Executive MBA program in the Philadelphia area, and a vibrant doctoral program. The College is housed in one of the newest and largest buildings on campus, providing state-of-the-art facilities and a pleasant work environment.
Penn State is a major research university, with approximately 40,000 students located at the University Park campus in State College, a dynamic college town in the Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania. Driving time to the major cities of New York, Washington, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh varies between three and four hours. University Park airport is served by Delta, United, and U.S. Airways with direct flights to Detroit, Washington/Dulles, and Philadelphia.
