  • 1.  AACSB-Sponsored Bridge to Business Program at Virginia Tech

    Posted 01-01-2012 13:49

    Hello all:

Happy new year and apologies both for cross-posting and the ad-like nature of this announcement.  It seems to me, however, that some members of SBE, IABS, or SIM (or their colleagues) who have a PhD in a nonbusiness discipline might be interested in this Bridge to Business Program.  We will have an information booth at the Allied Social Sciences Association Meetings in Chicago this week, so if anyone is planning on attending those meetings please stop by to say hello.  The graduates of this program receive "AQ" status from AACSB, just as if they had recently graduated with a PhD in business.

The Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Tech is offering an AACSB-sponsored Post-Doctoral Bridge to Business Program this summer.  It is designed to prepare individuals holding a PhD in a nonbusiness discipline for research and teaching in a business school.  Having successfully completed the program, the graduating candidate will be deemed academically qualified by AACSB International to transition to a tenure-track academic career in business.  Program tracks are offered in Management, Marketing and Finance in this 8-week residential program.  Further details are available at www.aqbridge.pamplin.vt.edu or interested parties may contact Rich Wokutch: wokutch@vt.edu

Best wishes for the new year!

    Hello all:

Happy new year and apologies both for cross-posting and the ad-like nature of this announcement.  It seems to me, however, that some of you (or your colleagues) who have a PhD in a nonbusiness discipline might be interested in this Bridge to Business Program.  We will have an information booth at the Allied Social Sciences Association Meetings in San Diego the next few days, so if anyone is planning on attending those meetings please stop by to say hello.  The graduates of this program receive "AQ" status from AACSB, just as if they had recently graduated with a PhD in business.  This is particularly appealing to schools that are undergoing accreditation and a good many of our enrollees have received support from their dean (or the dean of the business school if they are in another unit of their university)
