    Pardon the cross posting

    Hello all:

I mentioned previously that as someone who was relatively close geographically to Jeff, I plan to attend his memorial service on Saturday.   If they ask for comments about Jeff from attendees and I think it is appropriate I may read a couple of the comments that were posted on these listserves about him if that is okay with the folks who posted them.

Jim Weber collected these, they were published in the SIMian (http://sim.aomonline.org/newsletters/TheSIMian-2017-05.pdf), and Jim gave them to Jeff's daughter, Rebecca.  I  think, though, that it might be nice for some of his other family members and friends to know how much he was loved and respected by his colleagues around the world.

If anyone has any comments that they would NOT want read aloud at Jeff's memorial, please let me know by 9 AM Saturday.  Email to wokutch@vt.edu would be the most convenient way to reach me.  (Note to those who might be worried about my judgment: I would NOT read Steve Brenner's comments about Jeff's snoring unless folks started telling funny stories about Jeff).

    Regards, Rich
