Hello all:
Please find below a link to a co-authored (with Sandra Waddock, John Steiner and Mary Mallott) article/special issue of Business & Society about the history of the SIM Division and the SIM field:
http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.1177/0007650316680038
This project was based on and includes transcripts of interviews with a number of the founders of the field and the division, some of whom started working in this field in the 1950s!!! I myself started graduate studies in SIM in the early 1970s and I must say there is an awful lot I learned about how we got started as a field and a division in the process of working on this project. Special thanks go to Duane Windsor and Virginia Gerde for their considerable help in the production process of this issue.
This link was sent out earlier to IABS members who receive Business & Society as one of their membership benefits. SIM members who are not in IABS might want to consider joining (see: http://www.iabs.net/). This past summer we met in Amsterdam and next year we will be meeting in Hong Kong.
Regards, Rich Wokutch
PS: You will probably need to go through your library to access this issue through the link. Please let me know if this doesn't work for you and I will see if I can send an electronic copy to you directly.
