    A Great Event in Prospect

This year's event promises to be the best Colloquium yet. There has been a great response to the various Calls sent out by EABIS in recent weeks – over 170 inputs have already been submitted from business, academia and other stakeholders, up nearly 70% on last year. The final programme will be available in the coming weeks, but please see below for some provisional highlights.

    About The Colloquium Theme

Strategy is what links a company with its market (economic, financial and technological) and non-market (social, political and cultural) environments. Every company is inextricably linked by a dynamic process of interaction with a diverse set of stakeholders in these environments where the boundaries between market and non-market become increasingly blurred. In addition, Corporate Responsibility programmes and policies are often merely tactical and defensive corporate reactions to challenges by activists. Top managers need to retake the initiative and develop a strategic approach on business and society, based on a new social contract.

The Colloquium aims to explore the link between Corporate Sustainability and Strategic Management through a strategic approach to Stakeholder Management and will give attendees a much better understanding of this important issue.

    Invited Speakers

The Colloquium will feature contributions and speeches from a range of senior figures at the forefront of knowledge development, learning and practice of corporate responsibility, including the following Business Leaders:

Last year's Education and Training Exchange featured more than 60 such presentations and the feedback for the Exchange was excellent. This year a Symposium Series of five moderated workshop sessions will follow to give participants a forum for deeper discussion about particular themes and future paths.
