The 5th Annual EABIS Colloquium is shaping up to be one of the most important events this year in the field of Corporate Responsibility. No other business-academic conference worldwide will bring together so many significant practitioners, thought leaders and participants to examine the new knowledge around these two vital areas of sustainable business..

Perhaps the most exciting news that accompanies this release is the announcement of the two keynote speakers:

    • George Soros, the legendary financier, who will address the theme of 'Stakeholder Capitalism: The Role of Companies in a Global, Sustainable Free Market System'
    • Mario Monti, former EU Commissioner for Competition, who will speak about 'Corporate Responsibility and Competiveness'

It is a testament to the growing importance of Corporate Responsibility and the reputation of the EABIS network that we will be joined by two such eminent figures.

    Registration Numbers Climbing Fast

Since the launch of the registration process for the Milan Colloquium in Milan last month, there has been a great response from business, academia and other stakeholders. We are very happy to say that 2/3 of the available places have already been allocated. Nonetheless, we must stress that places are limited and time waits for nobody! We therefore encourage you to visit the Bocconi registration site as soon as possible and ensure that you have your place reserved for what promises to be an exceptional event.

To register, please click here and see below for further practical details such as fees and dates.

In addition, we urge you to act quickly and book your accommodation. The Colloquium dates coincide with Milan Fashion Week and follow on directly from the Monza F1 Grand Prix, so hotel beds are at a premium. There are still places being held at the official conference residence, the ATA Quark Hotel, but numbers are limited.

To reserve your room at the ATA Quark, please send an e-mail to Simona Tenaglia at: bocconis@senecacmp.com specifying participation in the EABIS Colloquium.

    Corporate Responsibility and Strategic Management

Strategy is what links a company with its market (economic, financial and technological) and non-market (social, political and cultural) environments. Every company is inextricably linked by a dynamic process of interaction with a diverse set of stakeholders in these environments where the boundaries between market and non-market become increasingly blurred. In addition, Corporate Responsibility programmes and policies are often merely tactical and defensive corporate reactions to challenges by activists. Top managers need to retake the initiative and develop a strategic approach on business and society, based on a new social contract.

The Colloquium aims to explore the link between Corporate Sustainability and Strategic Management through a strategic approach to Stakeholder Management and will give attendees a much better understanding of this important issue.
