DESCRIPTION
The SIBR is excited to introduce a new track of research to their ongoing conference program, beginning at the Osaka Conference 2015. Scholars, academics, research students and practitioners alike are invited to submit original research and practitioner papers about project management to this conference.
The Project management track of the SIBR conference (http://sibresearch.org/sibr-osaka-conference-call.html ) aims to encompass all aspects of project management research including project, portfolio, program and organizational project management. Two streams of papers are of primary interest however original contributions to project management research that do not exactly fit will also be highly considered.
The first stream is related to human factors of project management such as leadership, creativity, teams, well-being, legitimacy and credibility, attitude, CSR / ethics, involvement and motivation. Papers related to time management, emergency, urgency and stress are also of interest in this stream as it is a key element in projects and resources encounter great impacts that are not yet much under research scrutiny.
The second stream of interest is related to practice-based research on what project managers actually do and the relevant social theories that may contribute to a better understanding of this. Papers examining how the various project management methodologies such as the PMBoK, Prince2, Agile, and Lean along with local innovations, are put into practice are welcome. Along with this the use of social and practice theories such actor-network theory, activity theory, structuration theory, critical theory, practice theory and other approaches are welcome.
SCOPE of the Project Management Track
The project management track titled «Knowledge advancement in project management: learning from the past to create a bright future» will be held in Osaka (Japan) in July 2015.
This track is the first of a series of symposium that is both interested by research and practice on Human Factors and Practice-based process related to project management. The interdisciplinary aspect is key to push further the creation and sharing of knowledge and understanding on project management in an information technology based society.
Publication opportunities exist for the best papers outlined by our panel of reviewers.
Presenting a paper at SIBR conference is first a chance to share with an international crowd of researchers its knowledge but it is also an opportunity to discuss these issues and push further our collective understanding.
