The Opportunity
The Department of Management wishes to appoint applicants at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level with proven excellence in teaching and learning and a well-articulated research agenda. Candidates with demonstrated teaching experience and a strong research profile in business ethics, corporate and social responsibility, innovation/project management, strategic management or sustainability in management are of particular interest. Applicants with an interest in problem-based learning are also encouraged to apply.
Our purpose is to be an international leader in management and business scholarship through innovative and sustainable approaches to teaching, research and community engagement. A revised academic structure highlights our strength and diversity in four discipline groups: Business Operations and Services (including Tourism); Governance, Leadership and Organisation (including Public Management); Human Resources and Employment Relations; and International Business and Strategic Management. New and revised postgraduate courses are being introduced over the next two years whilst current undergraduate majors in management are under review. In addition, new majors in Business Strategy and Tourism management using innovative problem-based learning approaches will be introduced at the Peninsula campus from 2012.
To be successful you will have demonstrated relevant academic knowledge and attainment in one of the nominated discipline areas, together with a PhD in management or a closely-related discipline. Commitment and a capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching at undergraduate and post graduate level and a demonstrated capacity to make a contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the Department are essential.
Candidates for Senior Lecturer positions must also have an established publication record with evidence of an ability to publish in the highest quality management journals.
Appointment will be made at a level appropriate to the successful applicant's qualifications, experience and in accordance with classification standards for each level.
