The Organizations and the Natural Environment Division's Teaching Team plans to propose a new Professional Development Workshop (PDW) for the 2024 AOM Annual Meeting and we are inviting interested presenters to send us short proposals.
This professional development workshop will include a series of presentations by experienced management educators focused on teaching techniques and tools that can be used in management classes related to sustainability, organizations and the natural environment. Presentations will include innovative approaches to teaching but also educate students on driving innovation that supports sustainable organizations. The emphasis of the session will specifically be on teaching practice and each presenter will explain and demonstrate tools or techniques in a way that allows the audience to expand their skills and knowledge through immediate application in their classes. We encourage presenters to select specific topics, tools, or techniques that they would like to share. Presentations will be about 8 – 10 minutes each and should use practical demonstration, PowerPoint, video, media, or other illustrative means on the relevant teaching tool or technique.
Interested presenters should send us proposals by email of not more than 2 paragraphs. The initial paragraph (3-5 sentences) must describe the proposed topic and the second paragraph must introduce the presenter or presenters (1-2 sentences per presenter). Presenters should be present in Chicago as we are not expecting to offer a virtual option.
The ONE Teaching Team will consider proposals and will have the sole decision on which presenters to include. Please submit your proposal to Dr. Stuart Allen (allens@rmu.edu) by no later than 20 December 2023.
