AOM 2024

Dear SIMians,

It's only a couple more weeks until the AOM Annual Meeting! We're very excited to welcome you in Chicago! There are many events for you to attend, network, learn, debate, etc., and we understand the conference program can be overwhelming. So, there are a few SIM events that we would like to highlight, and at which we would love to see you. Check out the table and links below, and mark your calendars!

The joint SBE-SIM keynote address on Saturday, August 10, will be an opportunity to hear from Jeff McMahan on a topic that's relevant to many SIMians, and the title of the address says it best: "Killing for Profit". The address is followed by a reception where you have the opportunity to engage in conversation with your colleagues about this topic, or just (re-)connect.

The SIM Business Meeting on Monday, August 12, will offer you a chance to hear from SIM leadership and other SIM representatives about the current state of the division and its future. Prior to the business meeting, there is a new type of networking opportunity that we hope will be fun (and developmental) for you: Speed Networking with the SIM Division. And, of course, the business meeting is followed by the event we are all waiting for: the SIM Social. Please bring a friend or two; the more the merrier!

Also on Monday, August 12, we encourage you to attend the SIM Awards events, where you will hear about the excellent work that SIMians are working on right now. Lastly, take a look at our SIM consortia and the Research Development PDW. These events are excellent opportunities for professional development, led by leading scholars in our field.
