    Dear Colleagues,<u1:p></u1:p>

You would find this livestreamed film festival event relevant if you are interested in gaining insights about why university students feel lonely and how emotionally intelligent leadership actions on campus can prevent this. 13th Annual COB Film Festival on Leading with Emotional Intelligence will be held on November 28, 2023, Tuesday, 5:45 pm, PST, in University Studio at the Sacramento State University, which will be also livestreamed for broader audience.<u1:p></u1:p>

To participate in this live virtual event, registration is need until November 27 via this RSVP Link: COB_Annual_Film_Festival_RSVP<u1:p></u1:p>

While our society steps into a new era, we have started more clearly seeing the potential long-run effects of social isolation in a post-pandemic world. US Surgeon General has reiterated his earlier call for action to address loneliness, declaring it to be our contemporary society's epidemic. University students seem to get their share from this loneliness epidemic, with significant implications on their academic success and well-being. <u1:p></u1:p>

When brought together, our festival films will provide important insights about how loneliness among university students can be prevented with emotionally intelligent leadership support that they could receive from others, including the University professors, students, administrators, and leaders. Teams of Human Resource Management students at Sacramento State have produced these films, with the guidance from Professor Hakan Ozcelik during Fall 2023 semester. <u1:p></u1:p>

Following film presentations, Dr. Ryan Fuller, an academic expert on positive communication from College of Business at the Sacramento State, and Ms. Elisabeth Nunziato, an acclaimed director and actor from NK Media, will provide a live commentary to analyze and integrate these films in an interactive forum. A jury panel including field experts, professors, and managers will choose the "Best Film".<u1:p></u1:p>

I have provided here our event flyer, which you are welcome to forward to others. This is a free event, sponsored by the Dean's Office at the Sacramento State's College of Business.

    Best regards,

    Hakan
